The Dun Cow has lovely staff and is situated close to the A1, making it convenient for travelers. The rooms are comfortable but could use a bit of brightening up. The dining experience was fantastic, with attentive staff, but the Sunday lunch was quite expensive for the portion size.

The hotel was situated above the pub, offering lovely and spacious rooms with a bit of dated decor and tired panelling. The soft furnishings were a bit shabby, but overall comfortable. The service was a mix of helpful and courteous staff, though a bit inconsistent. The location was spot on, perfect for various activities and excursions. The dining experience was exceptionally good, offering first-class produce and well-prepared meals. The facilities were adequate but could use some updating.

The hotel could use some modernizing as the rooms have a dated decor reminiscent of the 80s. Despite this, they offer good value for money. The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff. The location in a pretty Yorkshire town close to A1 was perfect for our needs, especially for exploring great restaurants within walking distance. The dining experience was delightful with high-quality produce, although the overall ambience left something to be desired.
